He did it again last night. Woke up at midnight and 4:30. It wasn't all night long, but that is such an improvement over where we were last week. This is great. Fingers crossed!
Out of nowhere Moonpie slept through the entire night last night. Not a peep. I was actually worried that he was dead a couple of times because it's just not like him. I AM NOT COMPLAINING! It was weird though. And I have no explanation. And I pray the gods that he'll doing it again tonight. Still got up twice though. Once to answer to Monkey who was calling out. Another time to go in and sleep feed Moonpie since my boobs are used to feeding him all night and it felt like I was going to explode.
Great news!
Milestone?! Let's hope so.
Undies. Panties. Underwear. Big Boy Underwear. Whitey-tighty's except that they have Elmo, Diego, Spiderman, Dinosaurs, stripes, Grover, Superman, and Nemo on them. Yep, you got it. He's wearin' them. All the time now. He's pooping in the potty. Pee Pee is a little more touch and go. But he seems to be getting the hang of it.
This is great. I hope it really sticks now.
They're working with him on it at daycare too. Light at the end of the diaper tunnel.
Tonight Moonpie fell asleep as the mister walked around the house with him in his arms, The Flaming Lips' Hit to Death in the Future Head blaring.
Very effective. I need to give him more credit.
My Monkey was just talking up a storm tonight. He was playing with his choo-choos in bed and talking, talking, talking.
Then he sang the entire ABC song with me.
Then he counted to 10.
I was blown away.
I thought we were done. I said goodnight.
He came out of his room 2 seconds later--again (he had gone in and out a bunch of times already).
I brought him back in.
Again...for about the sixth time tonight I told him Goodnight. I love you. Have a good sleep. Goodnight.
I am at the door, about to close it, I say, Goodnight baby. He says, Goodnight Mama. I say, Goodnight baby, have a good sleep. He says, Goodnight Mommy. I say, Goodnight sweetheart. He says, Goodnight Jennifer. I have to go back to him and kiss him one more time. He rolled over, stuck his thumb in his mouth and that was it.
This is the best.
I don't really understand what happened last night. I talked with the pharmacist at walgreens and he said that I could take sudafed and non-drowsy claratin for my sinuses and that if any of it did get in my milk, it wouldn't hurt moonpie. So last night I took both of those and because I had a fever too I took two tylenol. I got in bed at about 8:30. Rolled around for a couple of hours. Fed Moonpie at 9:30. Back to bed, rolling around. Mister brought Moonpie in my bed for me to nurse him at 1:30 and then put him back in his crib. That was the last I heard from him until I woke up at 6:30 this morning all confused about where the night went. Very confused. Was it the drugs? Is it the crib?
I checked in on him and he had turned onto his tummy and was sound asleep at 6:30 a.m. So weird.
And now he's taking a morning nap in his crib and has been asleep for about an hour and 15 minutes or so.
What is going on?
My baby doesn't sleep this well!
Have we turned a corner?
Am I jinxing everything by writing about it?
So confused!
We've been spending a lot of time out in the front yard lately. Especially in the early morning and evening. I've got an old moving quilt blanket thing that I put on the grass and Moonpie just hangs out. He really seems to love it.
Tonight I was out with both of the boys and Moonpie turned himself counter-clockwise on his belly about 15 times in the course of 25 minutes or so.
That boy wants to crawl. He's clearly right-handed because he turns to the left.
I think he'll be mobile soon.
Also, I think he might be starting to teeth.
Monkey killed me with two different things today.
First, he told me to put his choo-choos in my purse this morning. I didn't know that he knew I had a purse and that it was called a purse.
Second, this evening we were hanging out in the front yard with Moonpie, waiting for the mister to come home from an interview. The little boy across the street, who is Mexican and speaks no English, was out in his driveway. His name is Cesar. He is rather shy. He and Monkey haven't really dealt with each other much, but they have met before. Cesar is about a year older than Monkey I think. We always tell Monkey, Say Hola to Cesar. Hola Cesar. And wave to him. Tonight, Cesar was playing and Monkey yelled out Hola! I said, good job. What's that boy's name? And he says, Hola. I said, Wait, his name is Cesar. So he repeats back to me, See-saw. I say, yes, Ce-sar. So I say, what's that boy's name? He says, Hola See-Saw. Oh, no, you say Hola to Cesar when you want to say Hi. Hola is another way of saying, Hi! He says, Hola See-Saw. Oh well. He's kind of bilingual.
Day 3 at daycare and they tell me that Moonpie took a bottle today. Hallelujah! I should go to church this Sunday.
It's not like he's been starving while he's been there anyway. I feed him right before I take him there and I'm back within 4 hours or so. Still, it's a relief to know that if I have to be away for longer then he will eat. The mom-guilt is just too overwhelming.
I'm not putting him in full time this semester (although we're paying for full time). Just 3 days a week for a 4 hour block of time or so, so that I can get some work done. I just can't think if he's here in the house.
Yea!
Moonpie flipped over via his right side today. Earlier this week it was the left. On his tummy he really seems to want to crawl. Up on his knees. His ars aren't strong enough yet, but they will be soon!
