The ones on the left are from a recent visit to the Springs Preserve. He loves to climb. The mister and I were a little nervous as he was going higher and higher, but he loved it. And he was fearless about it. And we were spotting him pretty carefully.

On the right he's doing sign language for banana. And yes, that is my huge belly on the bottom.

Pretty evening in the desert

Last evening we went to the Springs Preserve (again), this time with friends. It was really nice to be there with people we know. Usually we're the only people there. We walked around, had dinner, walked around some more, it was really nice. I took some pictures at dusk while we were in the new desert demonstration gardens. They are really amazing. It is a huge part of the preserve and filled with all kinds of gorgeous plants and flora and also interesting landscape architecture and demonstration facilities. I think that my friend A would really enjoy it. Here are the pictures.

Today we went to the Las Vegas Springs Preserve. It is very beautiful and interesting but it was VERY HOT! Some of the park is inside but we were still walking around outside quite a bit and we were dying in the heat! Monkey was in a backpack on the mister's back and actually fell asleep at one point. I believe this was because we were baking him and he just succumbed to the heat.

We bought an annual family pass and plan to return but it's going to have to be in the late evenings I think. They don't open until 10am and it's just too damn hot by that time. Welcome to Las Vegas. When are we leaving?
